The quasi-linear problem of proton acceleration at the front of the bow shock in the region of solar wind/earth magnetosphere interaction is solved numerically. The temporal evolution of the acceleration is investigated. The main feature of this evolution is a nonmonotonic character of the acceleration: in intermediate time intervals the particle density and the Alfven wave energy can exceed their steady-state values.
