It is suggested that the Rossby autosoliton (RAS) model provides an adequate description of Jupiter's Red Spot. Both the RAS and the Red Spot are anticyclones, have dimensions exceeding the Rossby-Obukhov radius, propagate in a westerly direction, self-organize into zonal flows, and are approximately stationary in time. Thus, it is concluded that RASs generated in the laboratory can be used to simulate the Red Spot.
