A simple mechanism is presented which leads to confinement of magnetic
monopoles at temperatures not less than 100 GeV and to their rapid
annihilation in the earliest evolutionary stages of the Universe. This
assumption would solve the problem of relict monopoles in unified
theories of strong, weak, and electromagnetic interactions.
