The formation and evolution of the large-scale magnetic field and magnetic ropes in the Venus ionosphere are analyzed in the framework of the plasma-convection hypothesis. It is suggested that the observed large-scale field or magnetic belt in the Venus dayside ionosphere is the result of the solar wind's magnetic field being 'pushed' into the ionosphere; the upper boundary of the magnetic belt passes near the upper boundary of the photochemical-equilibrium region.
