A detailed description of an event that occurred on 2/23/67 is presented using plasma and magnetic field data obtained by Explorer 33. The characteristics of this event suggest the existence of a boundary layer on the magnetic region. This layer was observed during the time interval 12:30-13:53 on a section of the trajectory whose solar elliptical coordinates are XE = 58.3 RE, YE = (-34.6 to -34.3) RE, and ZE = (-7.3 to -7.1) R sub E.
