The strength function and the cross section of the reaction nu(e) + I-127 - e(-) + Xe-127 are calculated in the framework of the theory of finite Fermi systems. The results obtained are used to estimate the possibility of using an iodine-xenon detector in solar-neutrino experiments. The advantages of the iodine-xenon detector over the current chlorine-argon one are shown.
