Since 1981 the F.A.S.T. Consortium is in charge of preparing algorithms for the data reduction of the HIPPARCOS satellite. The authors present the main steps of the data reduction. The organization and the structure of the software development are summarized. The main features of the several reduction chains and particularities for the F.A.S.T. data reduction scheme are presented. Finally the authors present the simulations of the data flow of the satellite.
