Experimental evidence is presented indicating that micropulsations may be interpreted as kinetic Alfven waves, and that they can accelerate electrons. A wave-particle interaction of significant interest has been observed on the L = 4.2 shell by the conjugate pair of induction magnetometers at Siple Station, Antarctica, and Roberval, Quebec, as well as by photometers at Siple Station. At the latter location, the auroral light bursts recorded are correlated with Pc 1 'pearl' wave packets that evidently bounce between the two magnetometer stations, since they are observed at the two sites 180 deg out of phase.
