How does a rapidly rotating condensed Bose gas carry extreme amounts of
angular momentum? The energetically favored state of a not-too-rapidly rotating
Bose condensed gas is, as observed, a triangular lattice of singly quantized
vortices. This paper describes the fates of the vortex lattice in both harmonic
and anharmonic traps when condensates are rotated extremely rapidly.
