A demonstration of the usefulness of a simple formula for the DC Hall
conductivity based on the relaxation-time approximation is presented. The
implementation of the formula on your PC can be completed within ten minutes.
The formula is employed to explain the qualitative features of the measured DC
Hall conductivity in the normal state of high-Tc superconductors.
