Ionization chambers on board Prognoz 3 were used to measure continuously the radiation dose absorbed in space along the high-apogee orbit of the satellite. The Prognoz data are used to plot the maximal dose values in the inner and outer radiation belts over the period from February 1973 to February 1974. The relationship between the variations of the dose in the outer radiation belt and magnetic storms is analyzed.
