Previous work has proposed that electron-ion recombination would lead to severe depletion of ionization in under-dense radio-meteors, suggesting that the results of many meteor studies are therefore invalid. Examination demonstrates that de-ionization is not important for under-dense plasma conditions. Permanent address: Physics Department, University of Canterbury, Chrischurch, New Zealand.
