Optical absorption measurements are conducted on lunar glassy spherules as a function of wavelength, in order to better understand the history of lunar glassy spherules at the lunar surface. The extinction coefficients of lunar glass calculated on the basis of the observational results obtained are found to lie within an order of magnitude of the values determined by Anderson-Kraft (1931) for ferric iron. The lack of exact agreement between the extinction coefficient and previous results may be due to the coefficient's dependence on composition.
