High-Pressure And Shock Wave Effects In Solids And Liquids
Scientific paper
Shock-compression experiments on liquids using a two-stage gun are
described. Results for H2, He, H2O, N2, CO2, and a mixture of H2O, NH3,
and C3H8O (synthetic Uranus) are discussed and related to explosive
reaction products, giant planets, laser-driven fusion, and metallic
hydrogen.
