A discussion about the effect of the eclipse of February 15th, 1961 on the geomagnetic daily variations is given. This discussion verifies the model, given by . Using the magnetic registrations of 16 observatories it was possible to show that there is a significant geomagnetic effect of the eclipse, which moves from west to east in the same manner as the shadow.
