The physics of the Sun involves all possible physical processes and year after year forgotten processes are taken into account. A brief and partial history of recent dealing with gravity waves is presented here. There are random motions in the solar convective zone. They generate, at the boundary of the convective zone, gravity waves which propagate in the radiative zone. Random gravity waves generate three physical processes: (1) diffusion induced by the stochastic properties of random gravity waves; (2) transport of angular momentum; (3) influence of nonlinear properties on the rate of thermonuclear energy production. Taking into account processes (1) and (3) can possibly lead to the solution of the solar neutrino problem.
