Density fluctuations in the early universe could have led to the formation of small black holes. Those primordial black holes with initial masses of ~1015 g may be detected today by the gamma radiation they emit. Recently, the CYGNUS collaboration set a new upper limit on the rate-density of these primordial black holes that was ~100 smaller than previous searches. The Milagro detector, currently being built, will be able to improve this limit by an additional large factor.
