We propose to observe the bright, HI-rich spiral galaxy NGC7531 and its ghost-like neighbour, the peculiar LSB object, AM2311.8-4353, with CABB at 21-cm. We will search for HI emission from AM2311.8-4353 over a large velocity range, analyse the gas dynamics of NGC7531 and its surroundings at high velocity resolution (using the zoom channels) and study the galaxy's star formation using the 20-cm radio continuum emission. Multi-array observations are essential to map both the extended gas envelope of NGC7531, faint tidal tails or streams, diffuse HI emission associated with the stellar cloud as well as the structure of NGC7531's disk and spiral arms.i its relation to NGC7531.
