New results from the Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer will be presented which showcase the power of using RXTE for X-ray spectroscopy studies of Seyfert 1 galaxies. With the ~ 3-40 keV energy coverage and excellent S/N provided by the Proportional Counter Array, RXTE detects the signature of Compton reflection with high significance in a number of individual galaxies such as MCG-5-23-16, MCG-6-30-15, and NGC 5506. RXTE also detects relativistically broadened Fe Kalpha emission lines, thus independently confirming ASCA results that much of the reprocessing in Seyfert 1 galaxies occurs in a central accretion disk. For bright Seyfert 1s, RXTE data can place tight constraints on the physical properties of reflecting material such as disk inclination and covering factor. Results are also becoming available from short and long-term monitoring campaigns to search for spectral variability.
