Plasma waves propagating in a relativistic quantum plasma embedded in a strong magnetic field are studied on the basis of the hydrodynamic equations. It is shown that, because of relativistic effects, the plasma and the Larmor frequencies become dependent on density and temperature. In addition, these frequencies split into longitudinal and transverse frequencies, because of the anisotropy caused by the strong magnetic field. Astrophysical applications of the results are discussed, especially with reference to pulsars or white-dwarf interiors.
