Measurements of Doppler spectra of short-wave signals scattered by small-scale irregularities of the subpolar F-region are presented, and interpreted by assuming that the antenna radiation pattern has a significant effect on the spectral characteristics of the signals. Estimates of the magnitude and direction (with respect to the east-west direction) of the irregularity drift velocity are obtained, amounting to 150-240 m/s and 0-7 deg, respectively.
