Planetary missions often involve spacecraft that are not magnetically clean. The Venus EXpress (VEX) mission, that is going to be launched in October 2005 is one such spacecraft. VEX will utilise two point magnetic field measurements to distinguish between natural and spacecraft contributions to the magnetic field measurements. It is shown how neural networks can be employed to determine the natural magnetic field using two sets of data measured at different distances from the spacecraft.
