A two-dimensional nonstationary model of the ionosphere is formulated in a single-ion approximation for the height range 160-500 km. The problem is solved numerically using the method of additive approximation. The stability of the computation algorithm and the effect of the meridian plasma transfer on electron concentration distribution in the polar and mid-latitude ionosphere are examined.
