Cosmological hydrodynamics and magnetohydrodynamics may be set in a quasi-Newtonian form except for the presence of several terms related to the cosmological scale factor. This relative simplicity enables us to study the asymptotic form of velocity and magnetic field when one assumes that the distribution of matter tends to a final state. Some reasonable hypotheses on the smoothness of solutions for all time yield the specific rate of decrease of these magnitudes. This turns out to depend on a simple form on the universal expansion parameter.
