Scientific paper

The potential applications of free flying recoverable liquid streams in space are identified. The results of recent investigations of the directional and speed stability of droplet streams in a vacuum are discussed, and stream bursting due to cavitation or flashing is considered within the context of potential applications. Some of these potential applications include: a liquid droplet radiator; a planetary gas scavenging system, and an aeroassist brake control. Other applications are: a fluid disposal system for the Shuttle or Space Station crews; and a material transport system for the construction of the Space Station.
