Cosmic strings are addressed from the point of view of Grand Unified Theories, with focus placed on theories suggesting strings' superconductivity. An experiment utilizing an extensive air shower array is described, along with a shower arrival detection procedure and a process of detecting cosmic strings. Attention is focused on probability distributions phase-space for individual daily grid cells arising from potentially impulsive emission of gamma rays, and on experimental and Monte Carlo simulated sky cell populations in terms of distributed standard deviations. Regions of extended emission which might correspond to cosmic strings are searched for, and it is concluded that no evidence of cosmic strings is found based on the preselection philosophy used in this study.
