In the early phase of the STEREO mission, the two spacecraft entered a petal orbit and made multiple crossings of the terrestrial bow shock. The Suprathermal Electron Telescope (STE) made spectacular observations of foreshock electron beams at these crossings. The improved sensitivity and energy range of the STE measurements over previous Wind measurements reveals previously unseen fine structure in the electron beams. STE shows electron beams with energies up to 100 keV associated with the quasi-perpendicular bow shock. In addition, the new instruments allow high time resolution measurements of electron beam energy spectra and time-of-flight features. These results are presented in conjunction with STEREO/WAVES (S/WAVES) observations of Langmuir waves concurrent with the electron beams.
