Absorption cross sections are reported for SO2 for wavelengths between 197 nm and 240 nm at a temperature of 300 K and a spectral bandwidth of 0.10 nm. The results are in good agreement with those previously given by Warneck et al. (1964) if a correction is applied to their wavelength scale. Differences between the present results and the high resolution cross-sections reported by Freeman et al. (1984) at 213 K, degraded to a resolution of 0.10 nm, can be attributed to changes in the spectrum with temperature.
