The earlier result concerning the excess redshifts of Sb and Sc galaxies is confirmed in the Vaucouleurs' (1965) groups, especially for Sc and intermediate, Sbc, types. The results are at a 3-sigma level of significance. When a Sbc or Sc spiral is the main galaxy in a group, the negative z-residuals earlier found to be favored by main galaxies do not dominate. The type dependence of redshift exists both for optical and 21-cm line redshifts. Observational errors are discussed, showing that these are not the probable reason for the type dependence. Other kinds of interpretation are also discussed. Finally, a tentative model of the effect has been outlined which also explains certain other redshift features.
