The interaction between fast particles and an MHD shock front propagating in a turbulent medium is examined. Unsteady-state solutions of the transport equation are obtained, which take into consideration the acceleration and partial reflection of energetic particles from the shock front, their acceleration by turbulent pulsations, and adiabatic cooling due to interplanetary-plasma expansion. The effectiveness of particle acceleration is evaluated.
