An interpretation of the dispersion properties of shear Alfvén modes in an ultra-cold quantum magnetoplasma, in which the ions are either immobile or mobile, is presented. By using the electron and ion fluid velocities deduced from the quantum momentum equations, together with the electron and continuity equations as well as Ampère's law, we derive the governing equations for the shear Alfvén waves. The equations are then Fourier transformed to obtain the dispersion relations, which reveal the modifications of the shear Alfvén wave dispersions due to the electron quantum effect. The new wave dispersive effects can play a significant role in magnetic reconnections as well as in the formation of localized Alfvénic structures and charged particle accelerations at quantum scales in ultra-cold quantum magnetoplasmas.
