Between August 1999 and September 2000 our group was granted a total of 16 nights on the CTIO Curtis-Schmidt telescope, 75% of which were clear. To date, approximately 1/3 of the data has been fully processed, resulting in the discovery of over 400 previously un-identified galaxies, the majority of which are low in surface brightness. In order to increase our understanding of the global properties of lsbgs, we propose to use the CTIO 1.5m telescope to obtain high resolution images of a representative sample of the discovered galaxies in two colors (B & V). These images should allow us to obtain a better understanding of the stellar content, distribution and star formation history of the galaxy sample as a whole.
