The status of the restricted photogravitational three-body problem is reviewed, and an attempt is made to define the significance of this problem in modern celestial mechanics. Particular consideration is given to the basic formulation of the problem with one and two radiating centers; the development of the problem with one radiating center; the problem with an extended variation range of the Q1,2 reductions; and the nonlinear stability analysis of the libration points.
