Two-Body Problem: Relativity Theory

Scientific paper

The three-dimensional Lagrangian formulation of relativistic theory of direct interactions is applied to the problem of motion of two bodies in the second post-Newtonian approximation. On the basis of the Poincaré-invariance conditions the Lagrange function for a system of two gravitational pointlike particles is constructed, where requirements of consistency with scalar-tensor theory in the linear approximation with respect to gravitational constant and with the Lagrangian of a probe particle in the Schwarzschild field in the one-body problem approximation are taken into account.
