Recurrent enhancements of energetic particle fluxes recorded on board the space probes VEGA-1 and VEGA-2 during the first half of 1985 formed a long-lasting series of events during the decreasing phase of the 21st solar cycle. On the basis of intensity data for protons with energies of 1-2 MeV measured by the IMP-7 and IMP-8 spacecraft, it is found that the series spans 26 solar rotations. During recurrent events the flux of 0.04-1.0 MeV protons and ions reaches a maximum several hours earlier than particles greater than 1 MeV particles. The last ten enhancements of the series are associated with a coronal hole on the sun.
