We propose to carry out 3/6/20 cm radio continuum observations of high priority WISE-discovered hyper-luminous infrared galaxies. This represents the second part of a pilot study that was granted time with observations scheduled June 16, 2010. These infrared-selected objects should have strong radio continuum flux densities >100 micro-Jy at 6 cm for redshifts between 1 and 3. In combination with the mid-infrared photometry, the full radio spectral continuum observations will help distinguish between starburst and AGN heating mechanisms. The science motivation is to (1) test whether the most luminous galaxies in the early universe are scaled-up starbursts (e.g., Arp220), or some combination of starburst with AGN, both of which would have profound consequences for our understanding of the evolution of the cosmic star formation rate, and (2) probe the energy production processes which are likely close to being at the Eddington limit. For a total of 10 targets, we request a total integration time of 5 x 12 = 60hr with the 6km array configuration.
