A rigorous asymptotic formula is derived for the radiation flux in a weakly absorbing homogeneous atmosphere of arbitrary thickness above an isotropically reflecting surface with a prescribed albedo. The formula expresses the flux in auxiliary functions that are extensively tabulated by Dlugach and Ianovskii (1983). An integral of the radiative transfer equation, which is expressed in elementary functions, is found.
