Two proton recoil telescopes (PRTs) for the precise determination of neutron fluences are described. The first covers the neutron energy range from 20 to 65MeV and the second is applicable up to 200MeV neutron energy. We report in detail on the experimental set-up and describe the response simulation using two different Monte Carlo codes. The two telescopes are compared in a 62MeV quasi-monoenergetic neutron beam. The measurement uncertainties are discussed.
