The persistent current of interacting electrons in toroidal single-wall
carbon nanotubes is evaluated within Haldane's concept of topological
excitations. The overall pattern of the persistent current corresponds to the
constant interaction model, whereas the fine structure stems from the
electronic exchange correlations.
