A two-dimensional numerical model using an alternating direction scheme to deal with the carrier transport equation is developed for the injection of IRCCD. This model provides a good means of analyzing the mechanism and optimizing the design for the injection of IRCCD. Using this model, the transient behavior of the signal input has been clearly shown, and the effect of the design parameters on the signal injection process has been accurately simulated.
