The paper deals with the design of a 16-dB gain 148.25 MHz ground-based
antenna developed for transmitting commands to a satellite orbiting at a
height of 600 km. The antenna specifications, configuration, and
radiation patterns in the E and H planes are illustrated. Some optimal
features of the antenna configuration are noted.
