Very High Energy (VHE) γ-ray astronomy [1] is a rather young
research field. It represents the relatively unsampled energy region
above ~100 GeV. This overview briefly discusses how probing the universe
with VHE γ-rays tests astrophysical and cosmological scenarios,
and describes some current and future experiments.
