We study the phase distribution around a vortex in uniform motion. We
consider both the cases of neutral and charged superfluids. The motion of the
vortex causes the density of the system to fluctuate. This in turn produces a
compensating current, thus ensuring current conservation locally. We explicitly
calculate this current.
