Pion condensation near the center of a massive neutron star can induce a dynamic instability, leading to collapse to a new configuration with a pion condensed core. The hydrodynamics of the mini-collapse, and ensuing radial pulsations are studied for a realistic model of pion condensation. The neutrino burst and subsequent cooling of neutron star heated by the corequake are also studied.
