We propose to investigate the nature of the most massive dense cores of the twin molecular complex NGC6334/6357. These cores are the present locations of high-mass star formation and, as such, will provide important insights on its earliest phases. Specifying the nature of the massive dense cores of NGC6334/6357 will allow us to check and extend the results recently obtained in Cygnus X by Motte et al. (2007). Indeed, they have shown that IR-quiet high-mass protostars driving intense SiO outflows do exist, and that pure pre-stellar high-mass cores are rare, thus being short-living objects probably created in a dynamical way.
