Techniques are described by which the calculation of collisional dielectronic recombination and ionization coefficients may be greatly accelerated. The methods are applied to the determination of density dependent ionization equilibria of hydrogen-like to argon-like ions of elements for the case of zero radiation field over wide ranges of electron temperatures and densities. The extension to a wider range of physical conditions is described. Estimates are made of the corrections arising from autoionization and secondary autoionization, and results including corrections are expected to be accurate to about 40%. Only a selection of results is presented.
