We have combined a particle based fluid dynamics code (SPH) with grid based magnetohydrodynamics and gravity solvers to develop a flexible numerical tool for exploring a wide variety of astrophysical problems in which MHD is important. With simulations of the intergalactic medium at z =~ 3 we explore the role that gas flows play in amplifying seed magnetic fields of various sorts.
