Scientific paper

The use of lunar observations from a near-earth orbit for navigational and scientific purposes is discussed. It is shown how such data can be used to solve autonomous navigation problems, to study the brightness structure of the earth's dispersion halo, and to determine the true albedo of objects on the lunar surface. Recordings from such lunar observations are examined, and means of improving the observations are suggested.
