Cosmos-900 data (about 700 cases) and Intercosmos-19 data (about 250 cases) relating to longitudinal variations of the location of the main ionospheric trough (MIT) for nighttime winter conditions in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres during periods of high solar activity are examined. The data indicate the stability of the character of longitudinal variations of the invariant latitude of the MIT minimum both at the height of the F2 maximum and at a fixed height of 450 km.
