The final data set of muons recorded with the Frejus detector has been analyzed to determine the atmospheric neutrino nu_mu-flux. From the depth intensity relation of the muon flux a region of almost horizontal neutrino induced muons has been identified. The measurement of the energy loss inside the detector of these through-going muons allows a search for deviations from the expected energy spectrum of the atmospheric neutrinos with two independent methods. No evidence of any extra nu_mu-flux at energies > 1 TeV has been found thus enabling significant limits to be set on the extragalactic nu_mu-flux predicted by several models of cosmological sources. These limits do not depend on the particular atmospheric neutrino flux model considered.
